Date: 2003-11-26 11:02 am (UTC)According to that quiz, I agree with Kucinich 33% of the time, although I think that may be hitting a little high (it rated my Lieberman match at 14%, yet he's the Democrat I'd most likely support). The one thing I like about Kucinich is that I always know exactly where he stands on any issue, and he does not try to sugar-coat his positions to make them politically palatable. More politicians need to adopt that style.
But then, thankfully, you are correct. He is unelectable. I doubt middle America is quite ready for the candidate who is running for President "to enable the goddess of peace to encircle...".

Date: 2003-11-27 01:49 pm (UTC)And Dean is the Democratic front-runner for exactly the same reason. Dean can actually back up more of his claims, but it's his style that counts more. If you're looking for substantial Democratic candidates, Kerry and Gephardt are your guys. But Clark and Dean are so much sexier, n'est ce pas?
Also, Kucinich is simply unelectable in the increasingly conservative United States. The ideas that we should try to eliminate poverty and take care of each other are considered evil now. It's far more moral to make rich people even richer and screw everyone else.
Politically,
