scarcrest mentioned a syndicated feed on LJ for a blog I read occassionally. But I don't use LJ for feeds, it tends to mess up my flow as I read through friends' entries. Instead, I use a little program called Awasu. Very handy news-reader client that can apparently be modified to monitor pretty much anything, and it's free. Highly recommended, I love it!P.S. - Apparently if a user has a paid account, you can use an RSS client to read LJ using the following links:
http://www.livejournal.com/customview.cgi?user=USER_NAME_HERE&styleid=57252 for their friends list.
http://www.livejournal.com/customview.cgi?username=USER_NAME_HERE&styleid=90448 for their personal LJ.
(Friends Only and Private entries will, of course, not be shown. Nor does it filter.)
Urm...easier way for the personal LJ, duh. Just add /rss to their journal. Ex: http://www.livejournal.com/users/legolastn/rss
