Will Work for Food

Well, I got the bad but expected news yesterday: my job is up March 31st. The grant that funds my position runs out that day, and there are no other funds at this point. My supervisor said that they appreciated my work, and wanted to keep me on or possibly hire me back if they got the funds at a future date. She also said that if the PI they were courting accepted the package the department is currently putting together, that they will be able to offer me a permanent position. But that she couldn't guarantee anything at this point because there was no definite timeline, and that I should probably start looking for work now. The job search that got me this position took forever, and the economy is even worse now. Rah. *pulls out the classifieds and starts looking*
