Wiis and all the other newest generation of game consoles have broadband internet connection capabilities. You can surf the web via Wii if you want to.

I don't leave my Wii on the WiiConnect24 all the time. Just when we are playing games. It heats up too much IMO, when the fan is not going (i.e. when it's on standby). Do you have this problem? I guess it's sorta subjective as to what's "too hot". :-P
Great! You can send your avatars I guess, since if you aren't on WiiConnect24 your miis probably won't wander, and you might not have them set anyhow. I haven't noticed it overheating, but I haven't really checked. I'll check it out.
