LJ changes
Feb. 7th, 2003 10:30 amThere has been much ado about the changes being proposed for LJ, but as it turns out (unsurprisingly to me), the good folks who run the show are actually reasonable and do actually listen. Go over there and give your input on the poll and/or in comments.
5 posts a day will be limiting to free users, but then free users have always had limitations and should be okay with that. I am currently one, so I can say that. :P 50 posts a day for paid users seems...well, I can't personally imagine anyone making that many posts. Someone prove me wrong. My only concern is how the community stuff will work, but I'm sure they'll come up with something fair. Especially with all the input they are receiving.
Some people have expressed a concern about changing what people are getting for their paid service. As a former paid member, seems to me this is all covered in the Terms of Service. Particularly, take a glance at section IX. Fine print: it's not just for lawyers anymore. :D It is there for a reason. Sometimes changes must be made. And I don't personally see that this is an abuse of that clause, especially since the decision obviously isn't being made unilaterally.
